Our Roots on the Wicker
The Story of Alaoma Nigerian Cuisine
Alaoma Nigerian Cuisine was established on the historic Wicker in Sheffield with a proud purpose: to serve genuine, soul-satisfying Nigerian food to South Yorkshire. In Igbo, 'Alaoma' translates to 'the good land'—symbolizing fertile soil, abundant harvest, and the timeless African spirit of hospitality.
Our kitchen honors traditional Nigerian culinary craft without shortcuts. Every pot of Egusi and Ogbono is simmered slowly with real locust beans, crayfish, and traditional herbs; our Party Jollof is prepared with that unmistakable smoky depth; and our grilled croaker, catfish, and suya skewers are spiced to mouthwatering perfection.
Whether you are joining us for our beloved buffet and dine-in feasts on the Wicker, ordering delivery to your home in Sheffield, or catering a celebration, Alaoma welcomes you like family with the true tastes of home.
“Good food is our culture, and every meal is a celebration of home.”
